Our Story
Old World wisdom, crafted by hand.
The wisdom upon which each Nifer Vintage Soaps product is based is centuries-old. To craft wellness items of superior quality, we use methods that were around long before the days of industrial production and unpronounceable chemicals.
As you browse our site, you may feel the Old World at your fingertips — hand-poured bars, hand-cut and cured for weeks in the salt air of the Bay of Plenty, carrying native botanicals foraged with care: kawakawa, kanuka, and the heritage oils used by skincare makers for generations.
This is skincare as a small ritual — not a transaction.

Every Nifer bar is a study in plant wisdom — from rongoā traditions of Aotearoa to heritage skincare oils used for centuries.
Kawakawa
A treasured rongoā Māori plant native to Aotearoa. Its heart-shaped leaves have been steeped, infused and pressed for generations to soothe sensitive, irritated and dry complexions — a quiet cornerstone of every Nifer bar.
Kanuka
The lesser-known relative of mānuka. Gentler in character, with a soft antimicrobial quality that makes it well suited to daily morning and evening cleansing, even for reactive skin.
Turmeric
A golden root used in skincare traditions across the world for its warming, brightening qualities. Adds a gentle natural colour, a quiet glow, and a grounding earthiness to the bar.
